Introduction
A Type C retrovirus infection of turkeys with low morbidity and high mortality.
Signs
- Depression.
- Emaciation.
- Loss of weight.
- Persistent low mortality.
- Enlargement of abdomen, liver or bursa.
- May be asymptomatic.
Post-mortem lesions
- Focal tumours, especially in enlarged spleen.
Diagnosis
History, age, lesions, cytology. Differentiate from Reticuloendotheliosis.
Treatment
None.
Prevention
Good hygiene, all-in/all-out production, control arthropods, in future eradication.
